Paige Larkin Carpenter

Paige is the youngest daughter of my late brother-in-law Maurice Larkin and his wife Phyllis. 

Paige was born in Maryland, raised in Boone, North Carolina, and educated at Appalachian State University.

She has an M.A. in clinical psychology and works  in psychotherapy with a private medical practice in Maryland.

Paige is married to Everett Carpenter, a research scientist, and is the mother of three "of the most delightful children ever to grace the planet," i.e., Adrianna the Great, Alexander the Great, and Kathryn the Great.

Everett Carpenter

Everett was born in North Carolina and attended Appalachian Sate University in Boone. While there he met Paige. Everett said of ASU, "I took every course in chemistry they had to offer, and when there were no more I left."

After college, Everett and Paige were married and moved to Louisiana where Everett took a Ph.D. in chemistry at the University of New Orleans.

Everett is now a research scientist at the Naval Research Labs in D.C. where he works with magnetic nanoparticles, an area of acute interest to the military as well as the medical and computer industries.

Everett enjoys the outdoors and camping and has already been canoeing with his 18-month-old son.

Adrianna Elizabeth Carpenter

Whether Adrianna-the-Great, as her father is pleased to call her, or Adrianna-the-Charming as her granduncle Brian is wont to refer to her, she is a lovely young lady.

Everyone agrees.

Adrianna, her mother wrote last year, "Adrianna is 11 going on 30." Her aunt Caitlin described her in these words, "Miss Adrianna is bright, articulate and engaging, and great with her younger siblings."

Kathryn-the-Great, as her father prefers, is a delightfully good natured baby. 

At ease among a group of strangers and willing to take a nap on dad's lap, she has captivated her aunt Caitlin.

Born on January 1, 2001 (as his mother says, "1-1-1 Wow! Isn't that neat!"), Alexander has a birth date that will not be difficult to remember.

"Alexander is the most adorable fellow, all blond hair, blue eyes and rosy cheeks, definitely a Larkin boy. He was very serious in his ponderings of this new human in his space, and toddled all over with great dignity."
