Lower Portion of the Everglades National Park It is about 12 miles from Homestead to the Ernest Coe Visitor Center at the entrance to the Park. Along the 38-mile two-lane park road are seven main points of interest. If you could only make three stops, the view of the "River of Grass" from Pahayokee Overlook and the board walk trails at Mahogany Hammock and West Lake are interesting. For serious visitors who want to camp, canoe or hike the back country, there are innumerable turnoffs (see the NPS topographical park and ecosystem map). |
